Louisville-Area Veteran is Featured Speaker at Annual Gathering

HORSHAM, PA--Aug. 8, 2013: AAMCO, the world's largest chain of transmission specialists and leader in total car care, is proud to announce its participation at the Military Order of the Purple Heart's 81st National Convention in Rogers, Ark.

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, AAMCO partnered with the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) to give back to America's veterans in communities across the country. Through the 50 Cars in 50 States program, AAMCO provided free automotive repairs to combat veterans. The goal of the program was to repair one in each state to commemorate 50 years of total car care service.

U.S. Army veteran Travis Tiffany will represent AAMCO's national charitable program at the convention today and share his personal story as the selected participant from Kentucky. As part of the partnership, AAMCO is proud to sponsor his trip to the convention.

Tiffany is from Rineyville, Ky. He served as a specialist during Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded two Purple Hearts. Tiffany relied on his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck for daily tasks but, due to his financial situation, was unable to get the repairs it needed. The commander of the Department of Kentucky MOPH nominated Tiffany to participate in AAMCO's 50 Cars in 50 States program earlier this year.

"With all the stress we go through as veterans, it is nice to know that AAMCO took a load off my shoulders and helped me get my car running smoothly and back on the road," said Tiffany.

AAMCO of Louisville provided the repairs to Tiffany's vehicle at no charge. He picked up his newly repaired truck in April. More about Tiffany's story can be read on the AAMCO Blog.

About 400 members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart are in attendance at the convention that runs through Aug. 10 at the John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts (Embassy Suites) in Rogers, Ark.
