Record July Sales for Mazda
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Aug 5, 2013: Mazda has set an all-time July record, selling 8,525 new cars, SUVs and utilities last month, according to VFACTS figures released today.
With sales up 7.2 per cent compared to the same month last year; Mazda3, CX-5 and BT-50 all broke previous July sales records, while Mazda6 had its best July in five years.
Mazda has now notched up 60,812 new vehicle sales Year-to-Date with a market share of 9.2 per cent. It remains one of the country’s top three automotive brands and has consolidated its position as Australia’s number one full-line importer.
The introduction of a new $19,990 drive away price helped Mazda3 achieve further sales success with 3,464 sales in July as it entered run out phase ahead of the all-new model’s arrival early next year
Demonstrating the enduring popularity of Mazda3, it has achieved an impressive average monthly sales tally of 3,430 since the introduction of the current model in April 2009.
CX-5 sales continue to surge with 1,638 finding homes in July, for a 10 per cent increase over the same month last year, as it maintains the title of the most popular SUV of any type in Australia.
BT-50 again showed its all-round appeal with 1,147 sales last month to secure a new July record.
With 8,293 BT-50s sold so far this year, it is now 21 per cent ahead of the same period last year and firmly on track to secure a record annual result.
Supporting Mazda3, CX-5 and BT-50 was Mazda2 with 1,106 July sales. The little hatch is as popular as ever maintaining its number one place in the light car segment and it last month posted 1,000 sales for the 70th time since October 2007.
All-New Mazda6 was also a solid performer, with 762 new car sales. Enjoying its best July since 2008, it posted its third highest monthly sales figures since the new generation 6 was launched late last year and is the country’s most popular mid-sized import.

It’s pleasing to see Mazda’s upward momentum continue and to see a 7.2 per cent increase over last July is a solid indication that we remain firmly on track for another strong year.”
