SYDNEY – Aug 2, 2013: Kia’s burgeoning reputation as a great car at a winning price has been further enhanced with four key models winning endorsement in the annual motoring.com.au Recommends Awards.

The judges from the carsales.com group recommended Kia in three core family categories.

With the multi-award winning Rio again scoring in the First Cars category, backing up its success as a winner of the People’s Choice overall Best Car and First Car awards last year, it was joined by the all-new Cerato sedan, chosen in the Family Cars under $30k.

It was double success for Kia in the Family Cars over $30k segment with the Sorento and the all-new Rondo both catching the judges’ eye.

Describing the Recommends listing as a key emerging tool for new car buyers, motoring.com.au and carsales.com Ltd Editor In Chief Mike Sinclair said: “The cars named as motoring.com.au ‘Recommends’ are the best of breed in their respective segments and represent canny choices for new car shoppers.

“The motoring.com.au crew drives literally hundreds of cars each year _ new releases, both local and abroad, seven-day tests and longer-term reviews that replicate the ownership experience.

“We’ve used this knowledge to name our top cars so new car buyers can short-circuit their research and fast track buying decisions.”

The Recommends voting takes into account performance, refinement, handling, suitability for purpose and value for money. Resale, reliability and factors such as warranty and the availability of benefits such as capped price servicing are also considerations.

Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Tony Barlow said it was pleasing that not only Kia’s existing models but also both all-new models launched this year had caught the judges’ eye.

“This is another wonderful endorsement for the brand," Mr Barlow said. “It is a firm confirmation that Kia’s extraordinary journey in the global new car market is continuing unabated.”
