BEAULIEU, UNITED KINGDOM – Aug 1, 2013: The first Simply Vauxhall saw over 200 Vauxhalls motor into the Beaulieu parkland to put on a fantastic display of the marque. All models were welcome, from veterans and classics to the latest Insignia, and participants enjoyed a relaxing day in warm sunshine with an opportunity to visit the whole Beaulieu attraction as well as take part in the event.

Beaulieu’s Event’s Manager, Judith Maddox, said: “We had an excellent turnout for this first Simply Vauxhall with a great range of vehicles. We were especially pleased to have a good number of clubs attending including the VXR Owners’ Club, VXR Online, Vauxhall Drivers Club, VX 220 Club and the Vauxhall Vectra Club.”

Vauxhall Heritage supported the event with three cars from their Heritage Collection and Team Hard, the British motor racing team based in Dartford, Kent, brought along their Vauxhall Insignia world touring car in which they take part in the British Touring Car Championship.

During the day, participants and visitors were entertained with rousing British songs and anthems performed by the Band of the Royal Yeomanry. Visitors to Beaulieu on the day, were also invited to vote for their favourite vehicle in the People’s Choice Awards.

The owner of the winning car, Aaron Taylor of Holbury, Southampton, received a Beaulieu Trophy from the attraction’s Commercial Director, Stephen Munn, in the afternoon presentation ceremony, for his Vauxhall Signum which he has modified extensively and brought up to concours condition. The Signum led a cavalcade of participating vehicles through the attraction grounds, showcasing a wide selection of Vauxhall vehicle history.

Simply Vauxhall is one of the latest additions to Beaulieu’s calendar of Simply events which has expanded to include a wide variety of themes, covering a range of makes and models.
