DEARBORN, MI--June 12, 2013:
Mustang approaches 3,000 movie credits
From appearances in James Bond's
"Goldfinger" to Steve McQueen's "Bullitt"
and now "Need for Speed," Ford Mustang boasts one of the most prolific
entertainment careers. It has made appearances in nearly 3,000 films and TV
shows and has a global fan following.
DreamWorks, Ford announce 'Need for Speed'
DreamWorks Studios and Ford have entered into an exclusive partnership
for the feature film "Need for Speed" that will include significant
integration of Ford products along with extensive media promotion by Ford
when the film is released March 14, 2014.
Focus Electric spearheads Ford's electrified vehicles in Europe
Ford embarks on a new chapter in manufacturing with production of the
all-new Focus Electric -- the first full-electric vehicle to
be built by Ford in Europe –
now under way in Saarlouis, Germany. Focus
Electric previews Ford's electrified lineup in Europe, with C-MAX Energi and the all-new Mondeo
Hybrid arriving next year. Focus Electric will be offered to European
customers beginning in August.
New survey of teens and parents reveals driving habits, differing
perceptions
A Ford analysis of NHTSA data from 2007 to 2011 reveals the highest
number of teen driver fatalities occurred in the summer months. But the
results of a new survey of 500 teens and their parents show 66 percent of
teens and 58 percent of parents believe winter is the most dangerous time
for teens on the road.
Fitting in, while standing out
Leading architects and automotive designers joined together to push the
boundaries of global design at the recent "Big Ideas in Small Spaces:
Proportion in Design" panel discussion. The Ford, Chicago Architecture
Foundation forum provided a look at how these industries are moving in
parallel, interpreting similar trends and learning from each other.
Ford Motor Company Fund opens new center in Detroit
Ford Motor Company Fund has opened a new community center
-- Ford Resource and Engagement Center -- in
southwest Detroit to strengthen a key
neighborhood and offer cultural and community programs provided by
nonprofits with the support of the Fund.
Ford Fund sends World War II veterans to D.C. on D-Day
On the 69th anniversary of D-Day, Ford Motor Company Fund sponsored an
Honor Flight for 26 World War II veterans from Kentucky and their guardians to visit the
National World War II Memorial in Washington,
D.C.
