Top Safety Rating for Home-Grown VF Commodore

MELBOURNE – May 22, 2013: ANCAP today announced 5 star ANCAP safety ratings for the Holden Commodore, Nissan Pulsar and Audi A3.

The VF Commodore which has been designed and built in Australia for a global market has passed ANCAP testing with the full 5 stars for safety. This top rating applies to all VF sedan, wagon and ute variants of the home-grown icon, as well as the WN Caprice.

Dual frontal, side chest (including pelvis protection) and side head-protecting airbags are standard, as are advanced seat belt reminders for all passengers. Other standard safety features provided across the model range include reverse traffic alert, trailer stability control and emergency stop signal. Blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping support, daytime running lights and following distance warning are some of the additional safety assist technologies available to VF buyers.

"Safety performance has become a key determining factor for new car buyers including major fleets in Australasia and international markets," he added.

The tally of 5 star cars available to consumers in Australia and New Zealand has also grown with the Nissan Pulsar (all sedan variants) and the Audi A3 (all 3-door and 5-door hatch and sedan variants) both scoring the top 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

ANCAP is supported by all Australian and New Zealand motoring clubs, the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, Australian state and territory governments, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.
