Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) had a solid start to 2013 recording 21,061 sales - an all-time record import level for a January-April period.

SYDNEY – May 6, 2013: With total sales of 5,456 units, MMAL recorded its best April result since becoming a full importer in 2008, up 46% on the same period last year. A number of key models contributed to the strong result.

With Mirage and Lancer performing strongly through April, MMAL’s Passenger volume of 2,240 was the best April result in the segment since 2006. The YTD result of 6,899, a 22% growth on 2012, sees 2013 being the best start to a year since 2010.

Not to be outdone by their smaller stable mates, MMAL’s SUV and LCV models performed extremely well, with total SUV/LCV sales of 3,216, one of the best April results on record and a total volume for the Jan – April period of 14,162 units, which was the best YTD result on record.

Triton was a key performer with 1,493 units, one of the best April results on record for the Triton range, while the YTD result of 6,992 units was the best YTD result on record for the strong workhorse. The Challenger and Pajero combined YTD sales of 2,806 was one of MMAL’s best SUV YTD results for the last ten years.

To build momentum on this record start, MMAL released the ‘No Time to Waste” sale details:

“We have had a strong start to 2013 and we want to see it continue, so we have developed some outstanding offers across the whole range that will suit buyers wanting high levels of specification at really good prices. The timing of May also offers our customers plenty of time to get into a Mitsubishi dealer before tax time.” said CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri.
