SYDNEY – May 2, 2013: Nissan today announced its award-winning LEAF electric car is now available to purchase from only $39,990 drive-away, down from its previous drive-away price of $46,990.

The exceptional retail offer is designed not only to broaden the appeal of the innovative LEAF EV (Electric Vehicle) but to capture the attention of buyers considering an EV who might have previously been put off by the comparatively higher purchase price typically associated with these ground-breaking cars. The Nissan LEAF’s new drive-away price offer sees it significantly undercut its market competitors by as much as $20,000.

Accompanying this new and compelling offer is a second, equally appetising weekly repayment offer: a new Nissan LEAF from only $85 per week with a 1.9% p.a comparison rate.

“Nissan has taken a number of pioneering steps with the LEAF electric car,” said William F. Peffer Jr., Managing Director and CEO at Nissan Australia. “This is an exceptional car and we are keen to make it more appealing to Australian new-car buyers.

“I encourage anyone considering a Small car to drive a Nissan LEAF first, especially if you live in an urban area. First-time drivers of the Nissan LEAF are surprised by its fun-to-drive nature and owners never seem to grow tired of not having to buy petrol.

“The Nissan LEAF should be on the shopping list of every Small Car buyer,” he said.

These two retail offers are valid until October 30 this year.

Globally, more than 50,000 Nissan LEAF EVs have been sold since its release.

The Nissan LEAF has been highly acclaimed globally, winning the 2011 World Car of the Year, 2011 European Car of the Year, 2011-12 Japan Car of the Year as well as being recognised in non-motoring awards, such as Time Magazine’s Top 50 Inventions of 2009.
