SHANGHAI--April 19, 2013: Dana Holding Corporation announced today that it will be showcasing its lineup of driveline products, power technologies, and alternative-energy solutions at Auto Shanghai 2013, which runs April 21-29. Located in Hall N5, Stand C009, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, Dana is introducing a technology portfolio designed for -- and available to -- China's original-equipment manufacturers as they build more efficient, higher-performing vehicles.
Efficient Driveline Systems
In addition to individual axle and driveshaft technologies, Dana is
introducing a complete all-wheel-drive system designed specifically for the
Chinese light vehicle market. This system is aligned with regional value
drivers such as exceptional driving performance; improved noise, vibration,
and harshness; and enhanced handling and mobility to improve safety. The
system is compatible with automatic braking and stability control
systems.
Solutions for Alternative-Energy Vehicles
Dana is presenting a new single-speed Spicer electric
vehicle gearbox designed especially for the high-speed electric vehicle
motor. Available immediately, its deep 10.86:1 gear ratio and maximum
torque of 265Nm provides power and increased acceleration to electric
vehicles, enabling drivers to reach highway speeds more quickly. In
addition, the custom-made gearbox and high-quality helical gears provide
premium NVH performance.
Dana is also offering a highly flexible, hybrid-engine cooling system. Its design consists of a battery cooling chiller; integral battery cooling plate; electronic cooling plate; universal stator cooler; engine control unit (ECU) cooler; and a sub-cooled loop, low-temperature radiator -- each of which can be custom-designed to a vehicle's exact specifications.
Power Technologies
Dana is also showcasing its capabilities in powertrain sealing and
thermal management, including a range of engine oil and other fluid cooling
products currently produced in China.
"We are very optimistic about the opportunity in the Chinese light vehicle market, especially for the emerging electric vehicle segment," said Mark Wallace, president, Dana Light Vehicle Driveline Technologies. "Considering the Chinese government's goal to produce and sell 500,000 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2015, we are well positioned to help our OEM customers develop drivetrain and thermal management solutions that meet the growing needs of the market."
Comprehensive Commercial Vehicle Capabilities
Dana also develops and manufactures a complete line of commercial
vehicle products, including patented technologies that increase durability,
reliability, and efficiency. As the world's most trusted driveline
manufacturer, Dana's best-in-class solutions provide optimum fuel
efficiency, decreased total cost of ownership, and improved safety and
sustainability. Products include the Spicer Diamond Series
driveshaft, a one-piece, eco-friendly, heavy-duty driveshaft that can
reduce weight by up to 100 pounds. This product is a finalist for the
2013 Automotive News PACE Awards, which honor superior
innovation.
Through Dongfeng Dana Axle Co, Ltd (DDAC), a 50-50 joint venture between Dana and Dongfeng Motor Co, Ltd, Dana offers a full range of axles for trucks and buses in the Chinese market. DDAC products are on display in the Dongfeng Motors exhibit at Auto Shanghai.
