Japanese Domestic Sales
Ever since the launch of the Suzulight
mini vehicle in 1955, Suzuki has been delivering creative products of
superior value to the customers such as the Jimny in 1970, the Alto in
1979, the Wagon R in 1993, and the Spacia in 2013.
Suzuki has also delivered a quality array of larger vehicles including the Fronte, Swift and Grand Vitara.
All these quality nameplates helped Suzuki pass the magical 20 million sales mark for Japanese domestic sales last year.
Outside Japan, Suzuki started exporting the Suzulight in 1959, and has sold more than 28 million since. Suzuki has also actively expanded the overseas production
bases, with factories in 11 countries including India, Hungary, Thailand and Indonesia.
Suzuki automobiles are sold and serviced in 179 countries and regions worldwide.
The 50 million sales mark continues the ongoing rise of Suzuki, which passed the 10 million mark in 1989, 20 million in 1998, 30 million in 2004 and 40 million in 2009.
