SYDNEY – Marc 7, 2013: VACC was surprised by Ted Baillieu’s decision to stand down as Premier of Victoria. Like everyone else, VACC had expected Mr Baillieu to lead the Liberal Party to the next State election.

Be that as it may, VACC congratulates Denis Napthine on becoming Premier.

“Premier Napthine will have his work cut out for him,” VACC Executive Director, David Purchase, said.

“We wish him well in his new role and look forward to working with him, as we have with previous state leaders.

“VACC members are small business owners and they hope the new Premier shows strong leadership, decisive decision making and the courage of his convictions. Small business needs stability and confidence in which to operate and while the upheaval was unwelcome, at least, it was swift. We now hope that under Premier Napthine, small businesses in Victoria will receive the strong leadership they deserve,” Mr Purchase said.
