New Note, Resonance Concept And New Leaf: Nissan's Stars Of The 2013 Geneva Motor Show
GENEVA – Marc 6, 2013: Standing beside the innovative Resonance concept and new Note for Europe, Nissan Executive Vice President Andy Palmer and Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan in Europe Paul Willcox led the presentation of Nissan's new product assault at the Geneva Motor Show.
Pointing to the future of Nissan crossover design, Resonance presents new ideas and advanced technologies, including a hybrid electric drivetrain. Andy Palmer introduced the concept: "This is Resonance. It's a concept crossover today, but it's close to what you'll see on the road very soon."
Nissan's new Note also showcases advanced technology with the introduction of the Safety Shield to the B-segment. In addition to the convenience of Nissan's Around View Monitor parking aid system, Safety Shield introduces Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection in one accessible package.
The new European-built LEAF made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Developed and engineered specifically for the European market, the new LEAF is fully integrated into Nissan's European production line-up. It is built at Nissan's Sunderland facility and features new technologies that deliver improved real-world battery performance alongside a host of detail enhancements.
Celebrating the milestone of producing more than 10 million vehicles in Europe, 10 production employees from Nissan's UK plant in Sunderland also took to the stage. In 2012, the Sunderland plant produced over 500,000 cars (a new record), while production in Russia and Barcelona will also grow to meet increased demand.
