John White to succeed Anke Koeckler as Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Australia

BOTANY, AUSTRALIA – Feb 13,2013: Volkswagen AG has announced John White as Volkswagen Group Australia’s Managing Director, effective April 1st.

Mr White’s current position is President and Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Group Canada Inc., comprising the businesses of Volkswagen Canada and Audi Canada Inc.

Following her handover to Mr White, Anke Koeckler will take study leave to prepare for a new role in 2014.

Ms Koeckler joined Volkswagen Group Australia in August 2009 and has overseen the dramatic growth of the company and continued sales success of the Volkswagen brand.

During her time with the company, the Volkswagen brand has undergone significant growth in both its dealer network, sales and head office staff – leading to the opening of a new purpose-built head office in Chullora, bringing together all of the business units under one roof in late 2011.

John White joined the Volkswagen organization in 1993. Prior to his current role, Mr White was the Executive Vice President at Volkswagen Canada Inc. from 2004-2007, Director, Sales Operations at Volkswagen of America (2000-2003), Canadian Region Manager for Volkswagen Credit Canada Inc.(1998-2000) and Zone Manager for Volkswagen Canada (1993-1995).
