DEARBORN, MI--Feb. 6, 2013:
Number of EV-selling dealers triples projections; Ford sets hybrid
record for January
Strong demand for Ford's plug-in vehicles has the company certifying
hundreds of more dealers than expected to sell them --
including 900 to be certified by spring. This means Focus Electric, C-MAX
Energi and Fusion Energi will now be available in all 50 states. Ford
hybrids are resonating with customers, with the company delivering another
record hybrid sales month in January.
January sales up 22 percent
-- best since 2006
Ford Motor Company's U.S. sales of 166,501 grew 22 percent
year-over-year in January -- with retail sales up 24 percent.
Gains were made across the lineup, with cars up 34 percent, utilities up 23
percent and trucks up 11 percent.
Ford, Energy Department make a pledge to the Workplace Charging
Challenge
Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced
that Ford along with 12 other major U.S. employers and eight stakeholder
groups have joined the Workplace Charging Challenge. The initiative is
designed to expand access to workplace charging stations for American
workers across the country.
KBB.com: Five Ford, Lincoln models
are best bets to own
Five Ford Motor Company vehicles have been named Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com 2013 5-Year Cost to Own
Award winners. Ford vehicles earning the awards include the 2013 Explorer,
Mustang and Mustang GT. Lincoln vehicles

Ford celebrates innovation with donation to Smithsonian Spark!Lab
Ford Motor Company Fund is contributing $500,000 to the Smithsonian's National Museum of
American History and its Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and
Innovation. The funds will be used to support and expand the Spark!Lab
program. The donation honors the legacy of Henry
Ford.
Fiesta ST to appear in Global RallyCross
At the Chicago Auto Show, Global RallyCross fans will get an up-close
view of the Ford Fiesta ST built exclusively for competition. Ford Racing
will introduce the ST performance badge this season in Global RallyCross
and at global X Games events.
