CAMPBELL, CA--January 7, 2013: --ChargePoint, Inc. has been named as the leading electric vehicle charging station manufacturer by Pike Research. ChargePoint achieved the highest worldwide ranking for feature-rich EVSE offerings, market share, geographic reach and vision. ChargePoint maintained its leadership spot with strong strategy and execution scores and as a result continued to secure significant market share, according to the report. ChargePoint's EV charging stations and cloud-based software solutions will be on display January 8-11, 2013 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas inside the GoElectricDrive Tech Zone, booth #2826 (LVCC North Hall).

“ChargePoint is focusing on its core competencies in IT and communications”

"ChargePoint is focusing on its core competencies in IT and communications," said Lisa Jerra, senior analyst at Pike Research. "ChargePoint continues to focus on all aspects of the EV charging ecosystem and leveraging the strength of the ChargePoint network by continuing to add other manufacturers' EVSE products to the network. This increases the appeal to EV drivers and subsequently, to potential new customers for ChargePoint's services. Essentially, the more comprehensive the network is, the more it becomes the de facto clearinghouse for EVSE sites."

ChargePoint provides EV drivers state-of-the-art features including the ability to search for ChargePoint-enabled charging stations, get directions to charging stations, see if a station is in use or not, check pricing, reserve a station, and receive charging notifications. ChargePoint locations are included on all ChargePoint mobile phone applications for iPhone and Android. These mobile apps provide an easy way to locate stations near any specified address, get turn-by-turn directions, and even start and stop a charging session directly from a smart phone. Additionally, drivers can locate reservable stations, and then make, view, and cancel a reservation directly from their smart phone.

"We are extremely proud and honored to maintain our top spot as an industry leader," said Pat Romano, president and CEO of ChargePoint. "We continue to be the dominant player in our market both as the company with the best products and the company that is setting the model for our industry as it continues to flourish."
