KUWAIT CITY--December 10, 2012:

Proven fleet management solutions for the oil and gas industry will be on show at the MiX Telematics stand at the Kuwait International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (KIPCE), from 10 to 12 December. The global provider of fleet management, driver safety and vehicle tracking solutions will use the event to illustrate the safety and efficiency benefits that result when implementing an effective fleet management system.

"With human error being the cause of up to 80% of motor accidents - as referenced by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers - it's critical for oil and gas companies to commit to a solution that helps them to monitor and improve driver safety," says Alan Hall, Managing Director of MiX Telematics (Middle East and Australasia).

MiX Telematics fleet management solutions provide customers with 24-hour access to vehicle location data, along with reporting tools that deliver key business insights. Operators are therefore equipped to make informed and timely decisions pertaining to overall performance and safety.

"An example would be identifying poor driving trends and high-risk drivers - and planning training interventions accordingly," says Hall. "Our offering - designed to identify, mitigate and manage driver risk - combines In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems with driver training, presenting a one-stop safety solution for oil and gas companies."

"In addition to significant safety benefits, our solutions facilitate the realisation of massive efficiencies such as a reduction in fuel costs and lowered vehicle maintenance costs," says Hall, adding, "This also means customers are able to lower their carbon emissions, lessening the impact their fleets have on the environment."

A large Middle East customer implemented a MiX Telematics solution that included an In-Vehicle Monitoring System and targeted driver training. The result, said Hall, was a 72% sustained improvement in driver behaviour after only six weeks, and a 15% reduction in fuel costs within 12 months of installation.

KIPCE is co-organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Kuwait University. MiX Telematics can be visited at Stand C15 at the Hilton Kuwait Resort.
