Jeep Australia's Partners Team Up to Toughen Up
MELBOURNE – Nov 30, 2012: The Fiat Chrysler Group has announced that two of their premier ambassador groups have joined forces in a bid to improve their physical and mental stamina.
Mark Visser, Jeep Grand Cherokee driver, big wave surfer and elite athlete adventurer, has flown to Cairns in far north Queensland to run training sessions with leading AFL football club, the mighty Richmond Tigers. The aim is to make the Tigers even tougher as part of their pre-season training.
Visser is an international expert on underwater fitness training – a handy skill considering his day job is surfing 40 foot monster waves – and shares his techniques with elite athletic groups to help them reach the pinnacle of mental and physical fitness. Although the Richmond Tigers are, according to one commentator, “as fit as Mallee bulls,” the team is very excited about honing their toughness in preparation for the 2013 season.
The training sessions involved teaching the Tigers breath-holding techniques that allow people to stay alive in situations previously considered impossible to survive, and which enable them to stay calm under extreme physical pressure.
Sam Tabart, director of marketing at the Fiat Chrysler Group, commented on the commonalities between the two Jeep ambassador groups.
“Mark and the Tigers have been an integral and rewarding part of our brand platform and it’s great to see two of our longest standing partners join forces.
“Both groups share the Jeep philosophies of passion and strength and epitomize the Jeep mantra of “Don’t Hold Back,” Tabart said.
Mark Visser will feature in the latest Jeep Wrangler television commercial, scheduled to air in January 2013.
