MOORESVILLE, Nov. 1, 2012: It was announced today that Miguel Paludo's red No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado will sport a different look in the upcoming NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway, switching to a special blue paint scheme in honor of World Diabetes Day. The truck will feature the blue circle logo for World Diabetes Day, Paludo's son Oliver's name above the passenger side door and a collage of diabetes statistics and resources.

World Diabetes Day, the primary global awareness campaign of the diabetes community, is held annually on November 14th. It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization in response to the alarming rise of diabetes around the world. While the campaign lasts the entire year, the day itself marks the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922.

Paludo, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes nine years ago, discovered earlier this season that his son Oliver, only eight months old at the time, was also a type 1 diabetic. Soon after, the Brazilian driver, who was always an advocate of diabetes awareness and prevention, joined forces with IDF as a Blue Circle Champion, making him the first South American representative of the organization. In June, Paludo ran his first special paint scheme for the organization when he hit the track in Texas in the No. 32 Unite For Diabetes Silverado.

"This paint scheme is very important and personal to me, both as a diabetic and the father of a child with diabetes," said Paludo. "Diabetes is something that requires attention, research and funding 365 days a year, but World Diabetes Day is a special day of awareness, as well as an opportunity to celebrate the 366 million people worldwide living with diabetes. I can't wait for people to see the paint scheme on the racetrack, and when you're out there with your child's name on the truck, it makes a race extra special; it gives you that extra push to bring it to victory lane for him."

The race at Texas Motor Speedway will take place on Friday, November 2nd, and the event at Phoenix International Raceway will be run on Friday, November 9th. Both events will be broadcast live on SPEED at 7:30 p.m. ET.
