Young Drivers Encouraged to be Proactive on Road Safety

LONDON--November 1, 2012:

It is often suggested that young drivers represent the group most likely to be involved in road accidents. This general perception is actually something that is backed up by accident statistics and these statistics are behind the relatively high insurance quotes that new drivers and those under the age of 25 are usually subject to.

A number of initiatives are in place to help young drivers to stay safe on the road, including black box systems that regulate the activity in a young person's car, deterring poor performance on the road and paving the way for cheaper insurance quotes. However, it has also been suggested that young drivers can enjoy a safer experience of motoring if they keep their cars in good condition - something that is even more prevalent in the autumn and winter.

Difficult weather conditions provide a challenge for all drivers regardless of their level of experience, but young drivers and those who have been driving for a relatively short period of time are likely to be the group most affected by a troublesome climate. Wind and rain present significant problems for young drivers and may even see them suffer increased involvement in accidents.

Car Parts retailer Euro Car Parts is certainly in favour of efforts to get young people to take better care of their vehicles. Their inexperience is evident off the road as well as on the road and many vehicles driven by young people do not enjoy the attention and care they ought to receive as a formality.

The team at Euro Car Parts expects to see more business in the autumn and winter especially with Car Batteries because cars need that extra TLC and maintenance so they stay comfortable and continue to perform properly, but above all so that they remain safe enough to use on the road when wind and rain are causing havoc for motorists.

Young drivers who take an active interest in the maintenance of their cars are much less likely to be involved in accidents that occur as a direct consequence of ignorance or negligence in this department.

The cost of motoring for conscientious and safe drivers tends to be considerably cheaper so there is every incentive for young and new drivers to revise their approach to the more practical elements of car ownership.
