LAS VEGAS, Oct. 31, 2012: Indianapolis-based Andretti Sports Marketing (ASM) successfully marketed and operated the season finale Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) event held in conjunction to SEMA's opening day. The sixth and final round of the 2012 GRC calendar showcased the series in their first stand-alone event of the season.

With a two-week lead time, ASM assisted in GRC's effort to transition the Las Vegas Convention Center's Gold Lot into a rallycross super circuit, complete with pavement to dirt transitions and a 70-foot gap jump featuring 10,000 tons of dirt. The .6-mile circuit consisted of eight turns and was lined with corporate suites, spectator areas and exclusive VIP viewing.

"Working with the Andretti Sports Marketing team has been a big help to the operational support of GRC," said the CEO of Global Rallycross Championship, Chip Pankow. "Being our season finale event, we knew we wanted to put on a great show at SEMA. With little notice ASM was able to build a team to help execute the operational side and last night's event was a success."

Fourteen drivers and five manufacturers competed over two days under the Las Vegas sun and concluded with a title fight in front of packed grandstands Tuesday night. Ford Racing walked away on top capturing the manufacturer championship while their driver Tanner Foust and his Rockstar Energy Drink Ford Fiesta secured the driver championship in a show-down Final event. Foust entered the event with a six-point lead over Rockstar Energy Ford teammate, Brian Deegan, who recorded a second-place finish in the Final as well as in the championship standings.

This event marked ASM's debut in rallycross racing and their third event of the 2012 auto racing season. The company kicked off their year with the Milwaukee IndyFest held at the historic Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisconsin. The two-day event, owned and operated by ASM, featured racing from the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights. This flagship event was followed by the successful promotion of the 2012 Grand Prix of Baltimore.
