Webasto Becomes Core Supplier of PSA Peugeot Citroën
STOCKDORF, GERMANY – October 22, 2012 – Automotive supplier Webasto has been awarded as "Core Supplier" by the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group on October 11, 2012. The ceremony took place at the French Webasto site in Les Châtelliers-Châteaumur. In the ongoing deployment of the “Supplier Relationship Excellence” program, PSA Peugeot Citroën Director of Strategy and Supplier Relationship, Mr. Bernard Brasey, handed over the award to Webasto Chairman of the Management Board, Mr. Franz-Josef Kortüm.
The group PSA Peugeot Citroën wants to identify and recognize "Core Suppliers", which are medium-sized companies with a solid international footprint and leading in their part of the industry. “We want to become an even more global business”, said Bernard Brasey, at the ceremony. “In order to achieve our international expansion objective, we need suppliers who work closely with us in all these markets.”
As part of the Webasto Group, global market leader for roof systems, the Webasto site at Les Châtelliers-Châteaumur is specialized in the development and production of sunroofs, shading systems and convertible roofs for the French automotive market. The site has been established in 1983. Since then vehicles based on the platforms 208, 3008, 5008, DS5, C5 and 508 are fitted by Webasto. In the near future also the folding roof of the DS3 convertible will be produced by Webasto.

The key criteria for PSA Peugeot Citroën to award Webasto Group are the technical and industrial excellence, in combination with a high level of collaboration and trust, which is very much appreciated by the PSA Group. For many years, Webasto was also able to strengthen its research and development capacity to support and to move forward PSA Peugeot Citroën in its new projects.
