Mazda's Fantastic Four at the Australian International Motor Show
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Oct 18, 2012: Mazda today unveiled New-Look CX-9, All-New Mazda6 and New-Look MX-5 in-front of an Australian audience for the first time.
At this morning’s Mazda press conference at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, New-Look CX-9 made its global debut, while the All-New Mazda6 sedan and wagon made their Australian debuts after their recent global premieres in Moscow and Paris.
New-Look CX-9 adopts Mazda’s ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design theme with the front and rear of New-Look CX-9 enjoying an even sportier look.
Enhancements in both craftsmanship and interior design further the feeling of quality and refinement.
The infotainment system has been upgraded and features the latest audio, navigation and speech-recognition systems.
A raft of advanced i-ACTIVSENSE safety features such as Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and High Beam Control (HBC) have been added.
Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE Technologies anticipate danger and help the driver avoid it.
All-New Mazda6 will be Available in Australia with a SKYACTIV-D 2.2 litre diesel engine and the new SKYACTIV-G 2.5 litre petrol engine both delivering an unbeatable combination of performance and economy. All-New Mazda6 also comes with i-ELOOP, Mazda’s world-first capacitor-based brake regeneration system, as standard across the entire range.
i-ELOOP is the world’s first example of a capacitor being used to power the vehicle’s electrical systems in a passenger car and works by storing kinetic energy as soon as the driver’s foot is lifted off the accelerator.
This energy is then distributed to power the vehicle’s internal electrical systems such as climate control, satellite navigation and audio systems.
Alongside the CX-9 and Mazda6, New-Look MX-5, the latest version of the world’s most popular open-top sports car, was revealed.
With a newly designed front bumper to make the MX-5 look even more aggressive, the larger front grille offers a sense of depth while the stylish front fog lamp bezel and new front chin spoiler help to complete the new look.
Driving the New-Look MX-5 will be even more enjoyable thanks to throttle adjustments , making it more responsive when accelerating out of corners, while updates to the brake booster allows greater front and rear distribution control and improved braking ability all around.
There are 17 cars on the Mazda stand at the Australian International Motor Show. It opens to the public tomorrow and concludes on October 28.
