LA Auto Show Selects Terri Toennies As The New General Manager

LOS ANGELES--Oct. 15, 2012: The Los Angeles Auto Show® announced today it has selected Ms. Terri Toennies as its new general manager. Toennies joins the LA Auto Show from SMG, the world leader in venue management, marketing and development where she was president, CEO and general manager of the Oncenter, a three-city-block facility located in the heart of Syracuse, N.Y. As the new general manager, Toennies will report to the Board of Directors.
As previously announced, Andy Fuzesi will step down as the LA Auto Show's general manager after more than 20 years, effective Jan. 31, 2013. Fuzesi, who is chief visionary/strategy officer, secretary and treasurer of the parent company, ANSA Productions, Inc., will retain his half-ownership, along with Lisa Kaz, the company's chairman and president.
"We are excited to bring on someone with Ms. Toennies' breadth of experience and leadership skills. We look forward to working with her as we strive to lead the industry in innovations for manufacturers, media and our loyal public attendees," Kaz said.
At the Oncenter, Toennies led hundreds of complex conventions, concerts, athletic games, theater performances, meetings and high profile events that attract over 600,000 attendees. Prior to her work at the Oncenter, Toennies was the general manager of the Sunset Station in San Antonio and held senior sales and operating roles at the House of Blues in both Las Vegas and New Orleans. Prior to that, Toennies spent the first 14 years of her career in convention services and catering for Hyatt convention hotel properties in California, Texas, Louisiana, Massachusetts and New York.
