WARRENDALE, PA--Oct. 12, 2012: A new report, "Technology Insights for Mobility Industries -- Fuel Efficiency," is now available exclusively to SAE International members through the online collaborative platform EngineerXchange.
Providing technical insights and career guidance to engineers who want to position themselves to solve the engineering challenges of tomorrow, the report includes guidance from industry experts, engineers, and business managers in the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle manufacturing industries.
The report offers:
- What types of systems are under development in each industry to improve fuel efficiency
- The technical challenges facing these systems
- The engineering disciplines that will be most important to solving these challenges
"There are truly some exciting developments coming down the road as automotive, commercial vehicle and aerospace companies strive to comply with new government regulations that demand better fuel efficiency," said Winn Hardin, consultant and author of the report for SAE International's EngineerXchange. "Engineers from all major disciplines will help to develop new lightweight vehicles constructed from new materials that allow for new revolutionary designs, such as new wing shapes for aircraft, or smaller turbo-charged engines and electronics that make automobiles and trucks significantly more efficiency."
