AUBURN HILLS, MI--Oct. 11, 2012: Faurecia, the world's sixth-largest automotive supplier, today announced the completion of its new Southfield customer center, marked by the addition of a Faurecia sign atop the Travelers Tower 1 building on Evergreen Road near Interstate 696 in Southfield, Mich. The center will house more than 200 employees, including more than 80 new professional jobs.
The Southfield Customer Center, which occupies some 50,000 square feet on the tower's 17th and 18th floors, is dedicated to engineering, product development, program management, sales and marketing in support of Ford Motor Company. Focused on program activities for Faurecia's interior systems business group, the Southfield team brings together former Automotive Components Holdings, LLC employees, Faurecia staff and new personnel. The center supports the Saline, Mich. operation recently acquired by Faurecia, and operations at Detroit Manufacturing Systems, a joint-venture of Faurecia and the Rush Group, as well as other programs and plants.
Over the past 12 months, Faurecia has added eight new locations in North America, including four in Southeast Michigan. The company's growth during the past year has propelled it to the No. 1 position among North American suppliers of interior systems and a ranking as the eighth-largest supplier in North America.
"Faurecia's growth in North America has been remarkable, especially in Southeast Michigan, the heart of the automotive industry," said Mike Heneka, president of Faurecia North America. "We are proud to see the Faurecia name atop an iconic building of the Southfield skyline as a symbol of our commitment to this region."
