VACC Launches New Federal Government Funded Energy Efficiency Program

VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Oct 8, 2012: With the financial support of the Federal Government, VACC, the peak automotive body in Victoria and Tasmania will roll out from October 2012, the Automotive Energy Information Program. Designed to identify and promote energy efficiency practices and resources, practical information for the industry to reduce costs and adopt energy efficiencies will be distributed over the two year program.
“The automotive industry has made great strides in recent years to become more environmentally friendly and introduce more sustainable business practices. However, with increasing energy and other business costs, VACC is keen to explore opportunities to improve energy efficiencies which in turn will reduce the cost of doing business”, said Leyla Yilmaz, General Manager IR OHSE and Training.
“The Automotive Energy Efficiency Program was designed to add value to an already popular Green Stamp Plus Accreditation program, which VACC Members are using to promote their sustainable business practices to the community and their client base”, added Leyla.
Specifically, the Program will involve:
VACC Members are already volunteering to participate in the free energy audits. VACC is the peak automotive industry body in Victoria and represents more than 5,500 small business members in the retail, service and repair sector of the Victorian and Tasmanian automotive industry.
