SYDNEY – Sept 26, 2012: Essendon Football Club’s co-major partner, Kia Motors Australia has congratulated star midfielder and captain, Jobe Watson after winning the Brownlow Medal in record style.

Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Tony Barlow said Kia was delighted with the season and extremely happy for Jobe and his family, and is very optimistic about the future and direction of the club.

“We’ve had a very positive season with Essendon Football Club and are looking forward to 2013,” Mr Barlow said.

“The players showed what they are capable of early in the season and I think they will be very hungry for a good result next year. They’ve showed it’s also possible for them to achieve.

“Essendon and Kia are two organisations at the same point in their corporate journey, both are showing off new talent and flair and are poised for an extremely positive and fruitful future.”

Watson went into the Brownlow a very slight favourite but didn’t disappoint, claiming victory by four votes from Trent Cochin from Richmond and Sam Mitchell from Hawthorn who tied for second on 26 points.
