Olympic High Jump Bronze Medallist Robbie Grabarz Back On Two Wheels Thanks To Alfa Romeo
SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – Sept 25, 2012: Olympic high jump bronze medallist, Robbie Grabarz, picked up a Stradale Touring Alfa Romeo bike yesterday courtesy of Alfa Romeo, official car supplier to UK Athletics.
Grabarz comments: "I used to ride a lot in my youth and then it took a back seat when I started focusing on high jump, but I've always been looking to get another bike and will use it in pre-season to help stay fit".
Damien Dally, head of brand for Alfa Romeo UK, commented: "When we found out that Robbie also has a passion for cycling and was looking for a bike to vary his training methods, we were keen to help and congratulate him on his fantastic achievements this year. Robbie is a dedicated athlete and a fantastic brand ambassador. He's an important role model for youngsters in athletics and we are delighted to support him in any way we can."
2012 was a year to remember for Grabarz who was close to quitting the sport at the end of last year before an inspirational pep talk from his coach turned his life around. Increased dedication and focus has seen Grabarz win gold at the European Championships, bronze in the Olympics and only last week he sealed victory in the lucrative Diamond League series.
