Steven Davies Liked It And Won It: Competition Winner Picks Up Crowdsourced Citroen C1 Connexion Prize
LONDON – Sept 21, 2012: Competition winner Steven Davies (40) from Anglesey in Wales has collected his prize of a brand new Citroën C1 Connexion from Elim Citroën in Llangefni after winning a competition on Citroën UK’s Facebook page.
Sales Executive David Davies from Elim Citroën was present to hand over the keys to Steven, who has swapped his old Citroën C3 model for the brand new crowdsourced special edition.
The C1 Connexion is the first production car in the UK created as part of a collaboration with Facebook. More than 24,000 configurations were submitted through Citroën’s Facebook page to create the special edition.
Members of the public entered a virtual ‘factory floor’ to choose the model’s appearance and features. The final design was created from the most popular configuration.
Steven Davies commented; “I’m over the moon. When Citroën told me I’d won the car I couldn’t believe it and even now I’ve got the keys it still feels surreal. My thanks go out to the thousands of Facebook users who helped create this fantastic car and of course to Citroën for making it. This was a great project to be part of, helping to put a real car into production and it’s made even better by winning the final design!”
David Davies, Sales Executive at Elim Citroën said; “Steven and his family have been customers with Elim for years, so we were delighted to hear he’d won the car and that we could be part of the handover. We hope Steven will be very happy with his prize.”
The C1 Connexion is on sale now with 3 or 5-door versions priced at £9,495 and £9,845 respectively. Based on the well-specified C1 1.0i 68 manual in VTR trim, the C1 Connexion also features 14" alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows, Caldera Black metallic paint and Scarlet Red exterior and interior detailing.
The new C1 Connexion is priced at just £500 more than the VTR version, but is specified with well over £925 of additional equipment.
