SAE International Announces 2013 Formula SAE Schedule

WARRENDALE, PA--Sept. 14, 2012: The 2013 Formula SAE schedule is available from SAE International.
The Formula SAE competition is organized around the concept that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a design team to develop a small Formula-style prototype vehicle for the non-professional, weekend, competition market.
Formula teams face two separate challenges, first they must design, build and test a competitive vehicle and second, and no less daunting, they must manage their project to a successful conclusion. The competition rules give students wide freedom to expand their engineering and project management skills while protecting the participants.

Formula SAE's mission is to promote careers and excellence in engineering as it encompasses all aspects of the automotive industry including research, design, manufacturing, testing, developing, marketing, management and finances. Today, the competition has expanded and includes a number of international spin off events.
