Magazine Announces Car and Truck Semifinalists for 2013 "Best of the Best" Vehicle Awards

DETROIT August 29, 2012; Autoweek magazine, a fortnightly magazine and daily online news source covering trends, features, sport and passion for an automotive lifestyle enthusiast, has announced the semifinalists for the annual "Best of the Best."
Ten 2013 cars and trucks were selected as semifinalists. The cars that made the cut are: Acura ILX, BMW 3-series, Cadillac ATS, Dodge Dart, Ford Fusion, Mazda 6, Porsche Boxster, Porsche 911, SRT Viper and Subaru BRZ. Trucks on the list include: Acura RDX, Audi Allroad, BMW X1, Ford C-Max, Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe, Infiniti JX35, Mazda CX-5, Mercedes GL and Nissan Pathfinder.
Autoweek defines cars as sedans, coupes, convertibles, hatchbacks and wagons; trucks are defined as pickups, crossovers, minivans and SUVs. To be eligible for consideration, a vehicle has to be completely or substantially new and on sale to the general public.
Editor Wes Raynal said, "Semifinalists will undergo further evaluation by our editors judging the vehicles on ride quality, handling, drivetrain, exterior/interior design and what we call fun factor."
The vehicle awards to be announced in January 7, 2013, issue.
The "2012 Best of the Best" awards were given to the Audi A7 (car) and the Land Rover Evoque (truck).
