Automotive supplier earns recognition for performance of electronics plant in Chihuahua, Mexico

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI--Aug. 27, 2012: Global automotive supplier Visteon Corporation has been awarded a 2012 Shingo Silver Medallion for operational excellence, in recognition of the performance of its Carolinas electronics plant in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The Shingo Silver Medallion is awarded to organizations that demonstrate the strong use of quality and lean manufacturing tools and techniques, have mature systems that drive improvement, and align their thinking and organizational behavior with correct principles of operational excellence. The Visteon plant in Chihuahua was rated highly for its manufacturing processes, environmental health and safety, quality, cost productivity, delivery, customer satisfaction and employee morale.

"We're thrilled to receive the Shingo Silver Medallion and we're proud of the employees at the Carolinas Plant who earned this honor through their exceptional performance against very rigorous operational standards," said Steve Meszaros, Visteon product group president.

Visteon's Carolinas plant produces automotive electronics components including instrument clusters, audio head units, satellite receivers, climate control head units and display panels. Its production processes include software programming and injection molding. The 82,000-square foot plant has more than 350 employees and serves major vehicle manufacturers based in North America, Europe and Asia.
