BASF displays custom Trans Ams and special effect paint at the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise
SOUTHFIELD, MI--Aug. 13, 2012: When the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise kicks off on Aug.18, BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions will be coloring the scene by displaying two specialty vehicles from TransAm Depot painted with BASF's R-M® OnyxHD Waterborne Automotive Finishes.
BASF's Dream Cruise display will be located at Morisette Automotive on Woodward Ave., just south of 13 Mile Road in Royal Oak, Mich.
BASF Automotive Refinish is a leading maker of coatings for the collision repair, commercial fleet and automotive specialty markets.
In addition to the two custom vehicles BASF will also feature colors from its Carizzma paint line -- a low volatile organic compound (VOC) refinishing solution offering a wide-range of colors and virtually limitless effects -- which is supported by BASF's top of the line R-M Refinish System, a system offering a full-range of products that provides users easy application and consistent results.
The vehicles on display at the Dream Cruise include:
The 7t7 Hurst Edition Trans Am - A tribute to the classic 1977 Trans Am, the 7t7 features the DB403 OnyxHD Factory-Pack, a deep black waterborne base coat, custom Hurst Gold OnyxHD base coat and an R-M 5335 Glamor Clear top coat.
The 6t9 Goat Trans Am - A tribute to the 1969 GTO Judge, the 6t9 features the Inferno Orange Metallic OnyxHD waterborne base coat and a RM 5335 Glamor Clear top coat.
"What better place to showcase the results of our innovative paint colors and easy-to-use paint systems than at the world's largest one-day automotive event?" said Vitor Margaronis, Marketing Director, BASF Coatings Solutions. "These incredible vehicles on display from TransAm Depot at the Dream Cruise demonstrate what BASF can offer to customers seeking fresh options in car color that are also cost-effective and user-friendly."
