JEFFERSON, Aug. 11, 2012: Cody Coughlin and the JEGS.com Chevrolet team return to the race track for Saturday's Larry Fleeman Memorial 100 Pro Late Model race at familiar Gresham Motorsports Park.

Coughlin and the team took last weekend off after racing in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, where Coughlin secured a hard-fought, 12th-place finish after rallying from a 26th-place starting spot, which was the result of mechanical issues.

Now, the 16-year-old Coughlin heads to Gresham, where he finished sixth in April and seventh in July.

"We're all excited to be back at Gresham," Coughlin said. "We really love the track, love racing here and love the people. It's just a good, fun place to race. We always like racing down South, and Gresham is one of our favorite tracks."

Coughlin and the team – led by manager Kevin Hamlin and crew chief Butch VanDoorn – tested at the half-mile track on Friday. Spotter Scott Wimmer and driver coach Bubba Pollard also continue to provide invaluable assistance to Coughlin as he steps up his driving career.

"We had a pretty good test, I'd say," Coughlin said. "It's all about getting more comfortable in the car, as well as getting more speed, of course. All the guys work so hard in providing me the best car so I owe it to them to be the best I can be. We're still growing and learning but I like the progress I see. Hopefully, a win will be around the corner."
