VPG and Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Join Forces to Help Vets Get Care, Benefits and Jobs They Have Earned

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--Aug. 1, 2012: The Vehicle Production Group (VPG) today announced a partnership with Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) in sponsorship of Mission: ABLE and will offer a $5000 rebate toward the purchase of an MV-1 for eligible members.  This is in addition to a grant of up to $19,858.14 that qualified members can receive from the VA towards the purchase of a new MV-1.

For every car that is sold through the Mission: ABLE program, VPG will donate $50 per car back to the PVA.  In addition, for every PVA member who links to our Facebook or Twitter accounts, or provides their email address for future correspondence, VPG will donate $.50 back to the PVA.

These offers are valid through September 30, 2012.

"It is great to be associated with PVA and to proudly sponsor Mission: ABLE," said John Walsh, VPG Chief Executive Officer.  "We're hopeful that our support of this public awareness campaign will help paralyzed veterans around the country find their way into an MV-1."

The MV-1 is the first vehicle purposely designed and built in support of wheelchair users.  Manufactured in Mishawaka, Indiana, at AM General's former Hummer facility, this vehicle is factory-built and offered direct to consumers with no conversion requirements needed to accommodate wheelchair accessibility.

With a base price starting around $40,000, the MV-1 is typically 25% - 55% less expensive than a newly converted accessible van or SUV.  The MV-1 is delivered straight from the factory already 100% ADA compliant; models come with either a manual or fully-automated access ramp built directly into its floorboard.
