Managerial Changes At Fiat Group Automobiles UK Ltd
SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – July 20, 2012: Steve Zanlunghi has been appointed Managing Director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK and will take up his new role on Wednesday, 1 August.
Thirty-nine year old Mr Zanlunghi brings to the UK operation a high level of experience in sales and dealer operations. He has most recently held the role of Director, Chrysler Group Mid-Atlantic Regional Business Center, responsible for all sales, marketing, network development, service and parts operations.
The Mid-Atlantic regional network included 275 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealers, and 20 Fiat brand dealers in the States of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC. Private retail sales in the region averaged more than 120,000 new cars per year and increased 57 per cent during his nearly three year tenure.
Since relinquishing this post in May, Mr Zanlunghi has been working in Sales and Commercial Operations, Western Europe, Fiat SpA, Turin.
He holds a BSc in Business Management with a minor in both International Business and Finance from Providence College, Rhode Island, and describes himself as “a competitive individual with American, Australian and Italian roots”.
“Every market I’ve worked in has been unique,” says Mr Zanlunghi. “I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and further growing our business in the UK market.”
Mr Zanlunghi takes over from Andrew Humberstone who is leaving the UK after nearly five years in charge to pursue other interests within the Group. During Mr Humberstone’s period in office the UK has become the best Fiat 500 export market in the world, with more than 100,000 sales, customer satisfaction and retention have dramatically improved, the dealer network has been comprehensively re-organised, and Jeep and Chrysler have been re-introduced here under the Fiat Group Automobiles banner.
“Andrew has left the company in an excellent condition,” adds Mr Zanlunghi. “I look forward to building on the good work that the team here has done.”
Mr Zanlunghi is married with a 3-year-old son and a baby daughter – born last month.
