NANTERRE, France & ZWANENBURG, Netherlands--July 20, 2012: The new platform is part of the ecopx range of energy supplies from the group, engineered to decrease environmental impact and save operating costs.
“The next step is to use it in our hybrid system launched last year which is the only fully integrated solution on the market”
AEG Power Solutions announces the SMi2000FE, its new
ecopx
category rectifier, offering class-leading power conversion
efficiency.
The SMi2000FE, using the new Full Efficiency
platform,
is an ultra-high efficiency 48VDC rectifier, fully plug & play
with
backwards compatibility for use with installed systems using
rectifiers
from the previous generation. As part of AEG Power
Solutions' ecopx
range, the SMi2000FE is engineered for low environmental
impact and to deliver a massive reduction in CO2
emissions.
Its
compact, high power density (1351W/L) design maximizes the space
available for active equipment which generates revenue.
In a
highly
competitive business environment and with concerns for global
warming,
telecom OEMs and Communications Service Providers are looking ever
closer at their operating costs. AEG Power Solutions supports them
with
the exceptional performance of the SMi2000FE.
With a typical flat
efficiency feature higher than 96% achieved within 30-70% of load,
OPEX
is reduced. The ability to operate at high temperatures, without
de-rating, reduces or eliminates the need for expensive air
conditioning
with its accompanying heavy CO2 burden and high
OPEX.
In
addition to this, AC input has been designed to operate in the most
demanding environments so that it can resist much higher surge
levels.
It also comprises embedded galvanic auto-disconnection by relay for
mains AC high voltage protection, including neutral
opening.
Finally,
the all-digital single processor (DSP) architecture achieves very
high
levels of circuit integration to realize the very best in
reliability.
This translates into a less frequent need for service calls and
maintenance trips, reducing CO2 (up to 80% in some cases)
throughout the product's life time and lowering OPEX
even further.
The compatibility of the SMi2000 FE with former AEG Power Solutions systems makes it possible to use it in combination with earlier generation equipment. This offers the ability to achieve immediate savings on energy consumption by enhancing the efficiency of deployed MPi series & MTPi systems, replacing the SMi2000HD with SMi2000FE. This protects your original capital investment while reducing operating expense by means of higher efficiency. SMi2000FE is optimized for a wide range of system sizes. Digital communication over CAN bus with our controller ACMi1000HD (as well as ACMi1000e) simplifies system design and enhances flexibility.
The SMi2000FE rectifier was developed by AEG Power Solutions competence center in France, benefiting from decades of experience in powering telecom applications. "SMi2000FE is one more step in our ecopx range" explains Dominique Manet, VP Communication Division. "The next step is to use it in our hybrid system launched last year which is the only fully integrated solution on the market".
