Kia Supports Red Nose Day with Soul
SYDNEY – June 29, 2012: Kia Motors Australia has expanded its support of SIDS for Kids by encouraging its dealer network to get behind the charity’s national fundraising event, Red Nose Day.
For two years now, Kia Motors Australia has provided six Kia Souls to SIDS for Kids to help run programs, services and outreach throughout Sydney, the ACT and NSW Hunter region.
The provision of the cars has enabled counsellors and education staff from SIDS and Kids to more effectively support bereaved parents in the comfort of their own homes.
The added mobility has allowed the organisation to provide further education to individuals, community groups and health and other professionals in their communities.
On Friday June 29, Kia dealers across Australia will show their support by selling merchandise, holding various fundraising events and dressing up dealerships and their cars in true Red Nose Day style.
One such dealer is Sydney’s Parramatta based Thomson Kia. Dealer Principal, David Webster has organised for a two-metre diameter red nose to be fitted to the front of the dealership to act as a reminder to passing traffic, that Friday is a very important day for a very special cause.
“I can only imagine the emotions parents must feel when the happiest time of the lives is turned so tragically upside down,” Mr Webster said.
“It is comforting to know that such a dedicated group of people as those from SIDS and Kids are working to find a solution to this terrible occurrence and at the same time offering comfort and support to those affected by it.
“The fit for Kia Motors Australia and for Thomson Kia is also a logical one. Our logo is bright red, our brand is very family oriented and Parramatta is in the middle of a real family heart land.”
