BELLEVILLE, Jun. 27, 2012: Joe B. Miller owns a 180-point lead over runner-up Aaron Andruskevitch in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series going into Belle-Clair Speedway events Friday (June 29) and Saturday (June 30).

Miller of Millersville, Mo., has four second place finishes in eight features, including back-to-back last weekend at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway and Macon (Ill.) Speedway. Miller also has sixth, seventh and a pair of eighths this season and leads Andruskevitch, 1,310-1,130.

Andruskevitch vaulted from fourth to second in the points by finishing third at Lincoln and winning at Macon. The driver from Riverton, Ill., has top-10s in the seven events he’s entered. Andruskevitch also has had fourths at Belle-Clair and Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Ill., sixths at Macon and Peoria (Ill.) Speedway and was 10th at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway.

“I’m trying t make every race we can, but I’m not really running for the championship,” Andruskevitch said. “We’ve been consistently fast.”

There were a season-high 54 Micro entries at Macon last Saturday, the second time POWRi has exceeded 50 this season. There were 52 at Jacksonville. POWRi has averaged 39.5 entries per event.

“The heat races count for so much in POWRi, your starting position and making the main,” Andruskevitch said. “When you have 54 cars showing up and 45 of them are capable of running up front on any given night, I believe POWRi is the most competitive Micro series in the United States. It’s a credit to (POWRi co-founder) Kenny Brown for how he runs the events.”

Jacob Patton of Bethalto, Ill., is third with 920 points, Jeremy Camp of Blue Mound, Ill., fourth with 915 and Cale Thomas of Fairland, Ind., fifth with 900.
