Audi Centre Mosman opens its doors in Sydney
ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – June 26, 2012: The brand new $ 7 million Audi Centre Mosman on Military Road officially opened for trading on 26 June 2012.
The stunning 1,800 square metre glass and aluminium-clad Audi ‘terminal’ showroom is located at 309 Military Road, Mosman (corner of Glover St, Cremorne).
Audi Centre Mosman was developed by the Sydney-based Autosports Group. The Group operates four Audi franchises in Sydney, representing a significant part of the German luxury brand’s eastern region dealerships.
The Autosports Group, which employs around 260 people, consists of dealerships in Five Dock, Sutherland, Parramatta and now, Mosman, which runs in cooperation with the service side in Brookvale. Total investment of around $40 million sees the team operate 7,000 square metres of showroom space and an impressive 11,000 square metres of customer service facilities from its dealership holding.
The stunning new Mosman showroom offers a ground floor display area of 900 square metres for 14 vehicles, with a small mezzanine café and underground parking for customers and demonstrator vehicles. The underground parking is accessed off Glover Street.
A 10-hoist Audi-exclusive service facility is located in Dale Street, Brookvale.
Like the Audi Centre Five Dock, which was the first Audi terminal in the world, Audi Centre Mosman is unusually-characterised with a convex end as a feature of its triangular design. These two dealerships remain unique in the world with their convex design which suits their corner locations in both Five Dock and Mosman.
Ian and Nick Pagent are the joint dealer principals and along with General Manager, Angus Young, will head up the new Audi Centre Mosman terminal, along with a permanent team of 21 people.
Dealer Principal, Ian Pagent, said the new showroom would be a fitting representation for Audi, citing the German luxury brand’s continuous success in Australia over the past seven years as one of the key reasons for the decision to invest in the new development at Mosman.
“We are committed to the growth of the Audi brand here. We now have in place the best facilities and people in the luxury car market. The next goal needs to be market leadership in each of our respective catchment areas. This leadership comes in the form of both sales volume and customer satisfaction. Audi has delivered us the product, and now the rest is up to us,” Ian Pagent said.
Audi Australia’s managing director, Uwe Hagen, says Audi is extremely pleased to see such a statement facility open in Mosman.
“This project, along with many others which are under construction around the country, represents Audi’s growing strength in Australia. It is part of our strategic development plan to prepare our facilities for the expansion of the Audi model range in the next few years,” Mr Hagen said.
In 2009, Audi Centre Five Dock led the world when it opened its doors as the first new Audi terminal facility to be opened. Audi’s terminal showroom architecture represents the next step in the evolution of the brand, specifically for medium and high density urban areas.
With its striking, folded honeycomb-pattern brushed aluminium façade, these dealerships clearly reflects the brand’s global architecture which is now a common sight in Australia following the opening of several high-profile developments including the Audi Lighthouse in Zetland, Sydney.
Construction of the new Audi Centre Mosman began in September 2011 and was officially completed on 12 June 2012.
An official opening event will take place on 26 June 2012.
