Haartz Tops the Top Rated Convertibles Eight convertible models listed among the best in the J.D. Power Quality Survey

Acton, MA --June 25, 2012: The Haartz Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of convertible topping material, tops a number of models receiving recognition in the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Survey.

The survey results were released June 20 in Detroit. Of the 185 models included in the survey, eight were convertibles with Haartz topping material. In the compact sporty car segment, the leaders are the Mercedes Benz E-Class Cabriolet and Audi TTS Roadster. The Mazda MX-5 is one of the winners in the compact sporty segment. In the midsize sporty segment, winners were the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The Porsche 911, BMW 650i xDrive Cabriolet, 650i, 640i and Chevrolet Corvette led the premium sporty category.

Haartz convertible toppings are engineered to dispel the misconceptions of soft top convertibles. Combining the latest in textile and plastics technology, Haartz materials offer benefits on par with both coupes and retractable hard tops including all-season driving and superior acoustical and NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) performance, as well as optimized trunk space when the top is down.

A full-range of customizable laminates allows Haartz to meet the strictest OEM specifications and design targets with lower-cost engineering and manufacturing compared to retractable hardtop designs. Haartz laminates give the automaker the ability to maintain the distinctive appearance of open-air vehicles, top up or down.
