Strong 12-Month Performance for Fiat Chrysler Group
MELBOURNE – June 25, 2012: Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge recorded 15,528 retails for the twelve month period June 2011 to May 2012 - the highest ever sales for the three brands in a twelve month period.
In 2011, the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands retailed 11,931 vehicles – the best sales result since 1994. However, the June 2011 to May 2012 results are 3,597 vehicles ahead of the 2011 total, representing a 30 per cent increase.
During this period, Jeep was a star performer with its highest selling model, the Grand Cherokee, retailing 5,590 vehicles. The introduction of two-wheel drive variants of the Compass and Cherokee also stimulated additional growth during the latter part of this period.
“We are delighted with the Group’s sales to date, which show a very strong, consistent rate of growth,” said Clyde Campbell, managing director of the Fiat Chrysler Group.
“With the 300 sedan coming on stream in July, including an outstanding SRT8 variant, and the Grand Cherokee SRT8 available for sale in September, the rest of the year looks to be an absolute stand out for the Chrysler and Jeep brands.”
