LOUISVILLE KY and MIAMI, FL – June 15, 2012: The Auto Channel LLC, in conjunction with WHDT World Television Service, has launched THE AUTO CHANNEL broadcast television network (TACH-TV) today. TACH-TV features television and video programming produced over the years by The Auto Channel, along with select video content produced by independent producers and studios. The television programming is presented in a traditional linear format but utilizes The Auto Channel’s enormous automotive website, TheAutoChannel.com, to provide on-demand, random access to supportive content.

The national broadcast network rollout begins today in Florida and can be seen on WHDT's family of television station outlets that cover most of Southern Florida, including Miami, Naples, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Jupiter, Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce and Vero Beach. Viewers should check local television listings for channel assignments and detailed program information.

Additional local stations in California, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Massachusetts are expected to be added this summer.

Two of the key elements that will differentiate THE AUTO CHANNEL broadcast network from other automotive television programming are the affiliation with TheAutoChannel.com website and the emphasis on local market outreach with dealers, enthusiasts, and consumers. The first website to use Internet streaming video (February 1996) and one of the Internet's leading pioneers, TheAutoChannel.com contains more than one million pages of content, several dynamic data bases, a news library that reaches back to the early 1990’s, and thousand of new vehicle reviews. All content on TheAutoChannel.com is provided free-of-charge 24-hours a day, every day.

The Auto Channel was founded twenty five years ago, in May 1987, by Bob Gordon and Marc Rauch, president and executive vice president, respectively. Both Gordon and Rauch are multi-award winning producer/directors, each with about a half-century of hands-on media experience.

WHDT World Television Service is owned by founder Dr. Günter Marksteiner, a pioneer in progressive high-definition broadcasting in the United States. WHDT became the first digital television station in the United States following a ruling by the Federal Communications Commission that the station could provide primary over-the-air service using only a digital TV signal. WHDT World Television Service currently operates WHDN Boston, WHDT Stuart, WYDT Naples, and WHDT Miami.
