Record May Results for Volkswagen Canada

All-Time Best Sales Month
AJAX, ON--June 1, 2012: May of 2012 turned out to be the single best sales month of all time for Volkswagen Canada. The company, which this year is celebrating its 60th anniversary in Canada, posted sales of 6,030, bettering the previous record by 4%. Year-to-date, Volkswagen is also on track to set a new high water mark. Its 135 Dealers have delivered 23,362 new vehicles in the first five months, 7% above last year's record pace.
"Strong product and strong Dealers have been a winning formula for our company," stated John White, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "Our cars have been redesigned and are now even more stylish and affordable."
Forming the backbone for Volkswagen were sales of the Jetta. In May, a total of 2,611 new Jettas were sold nationwide. The Jetta remains one of the ten best-selling passenger cars in Canada with year-to-date sales of 10,004.
Volkswagen offers a wide variety of cars, with an even wider variety of engines, including the ultra-fuel-efficient TDI Clean Diesel. All are well-equipped, aggressively priced, and built to last.
