WASHINGTON--May 22, 2012: GEICO has released a multitude of new features for its popular GEICO App. Based on customer feedback, the new features add easier convenience and offer an enhanced mobile experience for GEICO policyholders, customers shopping for insurance and smartphone users searching for useful car tips and information.

“We've focused on expanding the self- service features of the app, which will offer added convenience and a better customer experience for the user.”

"The GEICO App continues to evolve to meet the current needs of our customers," said Steve Smith, GEICO's assistant vice president of information technology. "We've focused on expanding the self- service features of the app, which will offer added convenience and a better customer experience for the user."

One of the most popular highlights among policyholders is a new Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) scanning feature that allows your smartphone to scan a vehicle's window sticker to get a quote. The app also has a new password feature that provides quick and easy access to policy information.

The GEICO Apps self-service features have also been expanded. Customers can now use their mobile device to reschedule a claims appointment, view vehicle coverages and discounts, access their payment schedule and print and email insurance ID cards.

This updated version of the GEICO App can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes Store. Also available through iTunes, the GEICO App for iPad, includes new features for viewing policy and billing documents. For other platforms, GEICO offers an app specifically designed for Android and Windows Phone 7 devices.
