Mazda Scores North Melbourne Captain
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – May 21, 2012: Andrew Swallow has celebrated his new captaincy of the North Melbourne Football Club by becoming an official Mazda ambassador.
Since making his AFL debut with North Melbourne in 2006, Andrew has gone on to play over 100 games with the club and cement himself as a favorite with the North Melbourne fans.
Andrew is now behind the wheel of Mazda’s All-New CX-5 which evolves Mazda’s hallmark fun-to-drive character and is the first Mazda to introduce both the company’s SKYACTIV Technology and KODO design language.
While Andrew had an extremely successful 2011 season culminating in an International Rules call-up and a second win as North Melbourne’s best and fairest, his talents and passions go beyond the game.
Andrew is currently studying his Bachelor of Business (Accounting, Banking and Finance) and, further proving that he has the brains to match his athletic ability, the North Melbourne captain also holds down a work placement at Wealth Creators.
He still finds time in his busy schedule to contribute to worthwhile causes including his long-time relationship with World Vision.
During his spare time Andrew loves travelling, spending time with family and friends, and being an avid food buff, dines out regularly. What’s more, he plays the guitar – although he admits not very well!
Mazda Australia Public Relations manager, Steve Maciver said “There’s little doubt that Andrew shares the stylish, insightful and spirited values of the Mazda brand and the All-New CX-5 he is now a proud driver of. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome him to the Mazda family.”
Andrew joins the Mazda ambassador ranks alongside Channel Nine presenter and fashion icon, Lauren Phillips, Lachlan Turner – winger for the NSW Waratahs and Mark Renshaw, one of Australia’s leading professional cyclists.
