Purchase Order release by mid-June; Final production order during the second half of 2012

DRAPER, UT--May 9, 2012 --  Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) Flexpoint today announced that they are making significant progress toward their goal of having a major contract in the automotive/trucking industry by the end of the year.

A Request for Quotation, ("RFQ") is being prepared for distribution to suppliers by a major American Truck manufacturer for a component which will require the use of a specially designed Bend Sensor® featured in the product.  This Fortune 500 Company, with manufacturing operations in multiple countries, should complete and distribute the RFQ in the next few weeks. The RFQ's can then be reviewed and a purchase order released by the middle of June.  It is anticipated that the parts will be fully validated and the final production order issued during the second half of 2012.  Flexpoint anticipates each new system to be integrated with the Bend Sensor® with annual volumes in excess of 80,000. As the product progresses further along the process we hope to give investors more information concerning the product, its applications, and our partners.

Clark Mower, President of Flexpoint stated, "We are excited about the progress that has been made to date and the validation of the technology represented by the acceptance of parts utilizing Bend Sensor technology by a major US manufacturer.  We expect production of this product to lead to more orders from this and other manufacturers and the expansion of the technology into additional uses for this manufacturer."
