LOS ANGELES--May 8, 2012: The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), under the auspices of the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA), will host the 26th International Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS26) in Los Angeles May 6-9, resulting in an economic impact of more than $2.5 million citywide and a total of 2,900 room nights at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at LA LIVE.
“We're pleased to be hosting the International Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles for the first time in its history”
The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is hosting the event, and has partnered with the European Association for Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (AVERE) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP). The four-day symposium will showcase the newest developments in the industry while providing consumers opportunities to view and experience electric vehicles on May 6 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center, just as the symposium is getting underway.
The event will feature several lectures and workshops that address such issues as plug-in hybrids and fuel cell electric drive vehicles. Hundreds of exhibits from EV automakers, technology developers, manufacturers, infrastructure companies and more will also be on display. An industry-only gala event will take place at California Science Center on the evening of May 8.
