Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale Offers 4 Fuel Efficient TDI Models

Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale's versatile lineup of TDI models utilize diesel fuel and offer over 40 mpg, while still remaining eco-friendly.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--April 20, 2012:  Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale has always been behind VW's Think Blue campaign. The campaign's goal is to create environmentally friendly products and solutions, encourage more eco-conscious behavior and contribute to a sustainable future. VW Scottsdale is doing this by offering a lineup of TDI models which utilize diesel fuel while still offering substantial speed. The TDI stands for Turbocharged Direct Inject. Contrary to the typical beliefs diesel fuel has been shown to run cleaner, more efficiently, and also reduces the amount of fuel needed, making it a perfect fuel alternative.

"Volkswagen offers four models in the TDI family that all have extraordinary fuel efficiency and still cater to all different types of needs in a vehicle," says Chapman Volkswagen General Manager Rolland Schreiber.

The first model offered is the Volkswagen Passat SE TDI Sedan. The Passat not only boasts a dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth connectivity, but also an impressive 31 mpg city and 43 mpg highway. You have the option of getting the slick direct-shift gearbox, or DSG, which is a twin-clutch, 6-speed manual transmission that shifts electronically.

The second model available is the Volkswagen Golf TDI. This VW comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. You have the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual. Both choices produce 140 horsepower at 4000 rpm. The Golf TDI has an EPA-estimated 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway.

The third model is the Volkswagen Jetta TDI sedan. The newly redesigned 2012 VW Jetta is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel 4-cylinder that generates 140 horsepower and 177lb-ft of torque. The engine options include a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Jetta offers 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway and comes standard with a navigation system, iPod input, satellite radio, and a stability control system.

The final model Volkswagen Phoenix dealers offer in the TDI line is the Jetta SportWagon. This fuller size vehicle offers 42 mpg highway which equates to about 609 miles in one tank while still offering a substantial amount of storage space. The engine delivers 140 horsepower and 236 lbs/ft of torque which means a lot of power right from the start-up. You also have the two options of the 6-speed manual transmission or the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
