Momentum Builds for Mazda CX-5
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – March 27, 2012: Mazda’s All-New CX-5 looks set to shake up the medium SUV segment with record levels of pre-launch interest now translating into unprecedented levels of demand on the showroom floor.
All-New CX-5 is expected to build on the success of the CX-7 which achieved record sales in its final year on sale.
Mazda3 had previously commanded the company’s largest amount of pre-launch customer interest but more than three times that amount have registered their details for more information on CX-5.
Mazda dealers are now seeing this interest manifest itself in genuine customer inquiry and are reporting a significant increase in showroom traffic and sales as a result of CX-5.
Sales targets for All-New CX-5 have been set at approximately 1000 per month and initial demand indicates a first full month total in excess of this.
Mazda Australia anticipated strong demand for CX-5 at launch and has made sure that it has plenty of stock on the ground to fulfill the vast majority of customer orders.
Mazda Australia national marketing manager Alastair Doak explains why he feels demand for the CX-5 has been so strong. “There’s no doubt that All-New CX-5 ticks all the boxes. Completely new from the ground up, it offers a compelling mix of style, space, safety and fuel economy while delivering driving dynamics that are at a new level for SUVs. Add to this great value for money and it’s easy to see why All-New CX-5 is keeping our dealers so busy,” he said.
Strong demand for All-New CX-5 isn’t limited to Australia. In its first month on sale, 8000 new CX-5s were sold in Japan, more than eight times the monthly sales target.
